DRIFT TRIP DETAILS
The Clearwater River drift trip is designed for the traveling angler and typically takes five to six hours to complete. Our 16' drift boat can accommodate up to two anglers.
The trip starts on the Clearwater River and merges into the North Thompson River. All the necessary gear and tackle is provided. The trip also includes a shore side lunch. Clients are encouraged to pack their own water, especially in the heat of the summer.
The Clearwater River opens for fishing July 1st, as per BC Freshwater Fishing Regulations
-
July is peak dry fly fishing on the Clearwater River when the river is at it's highest during the summer months
-
August still offers dry fly fishing, but can be more challenging due to lower water levels. A change in tactics to nymphing offers exciting indicator and sink tip fishing
-
September can offer incredible fishing once the salmon are spawning in the river and we change gears to egg patterns, allowing us to target large rainbows, whitefish and bull trout
PFDs are supplied and mandatory for clients to wear
Clients are also required to hold a valid, B.C. Fishing License.
